Eight years later...

Kimya arched his back in a stretch, looking over at his sleeping brother, Dhahabu. He nudged him roughly with his head, "Hey, wake up you lazy bum," he growled, twitching his tail. Dhahabu blinked open his silver eyes and gazed up at his brother groggily, "Wha...? Ugh..." he got slowly to his paws, he was a bit smaller then Kimya, and looked much more 'fragile'. His delicate frame and very soft pelt made him look vulnerable, and his small tuft of fur always sticking up on his head made him look more cuddly then vicious. He sighed, "What do you want to get into now, Kimya...?" he asked, looking at him with his shiny silver eyes. Kimya grinned, "Come on! I know this house near town that an old lady lives in, she always bakes stuff and leaves it out on the windowsill, right where we can take them!" he said excitedly.

Dhahabu's eyes widened, "b-but Kimya! We can't steal from an old lady!" he squeaked.
Kimya shrugged, "Maybe you can't, but I can," he smirked, then turned away and began to pad out of the cave, "Well? Are you coming with me? Or staying until Mom wakes up?" he meowed, flicking his ear.
Dhahabu squeaked again and darted after his brother, "N-no! She always wakes up in a bad mood!"
Kimya chuckled, then put a paw out, and his brother smacked into it face first. "Slow down, kid!" he laughed, "We need to change first."
Dhahabu sniffed, feeling tears well up at his eyes. He didn't cry though, since his brother would make fun of him if he did.

"O-okay..."

The two shifted into their human forms, becoming two young boys. Dhahabu was quite pale, with dirty blonde hair that tended to stick up all over the place. He was thin and often shaking out of timidness as well. Kimya, however, had a more strong frame, and his skin was darker as well. He had long black hair with rust coloured streaks in it.

Kimya's green eyes lit up with mischief, "Come on you slowpoke," he growled nudging his brother roughly before running off toward the houses at the outskirts of the forest. Dhahabu had his doubts, but followed Kimya through the woods.

Kimya ran quickly through the fallen leaves and tall grass, easily avoiding brambles and fallen trees. His brother, however, wasn't as nimble as him, and kept stumbling and hitting thorns, getting many painful scratches on his arms and legs. After Dhahabu caught up with Kimya he whimpered, "I don't think we should do this..."
Kimya rolled his eyes, "I swear, it's like I have a sister instead of a brother," he growled. Dhahabu bit his lower lip, feeling tears well up again.

Kimya groaned, "Alright, fine! Just come on... you can just watch," he growled. His brother followed, trembling slightly. The two approached a house, and a pie was cooling on the windowsill, it gave off a cinnamon-like aroma that made the boys mouth's water. Kimya stepped toward the house, the sunlight hitting it's bright white paint blinded him, but he was determined to get that pie. His bare feet crunched the dry grass as he walked slowly toward the window. He licked his lips, eager to devour the sugary dessert.

He peeked his head over the windowsill, staring in to see if the elderly woman was there. She had left the room at the time being, and he snatched the pie, then sped off into the woods, crumpling the flowers by her home. He arrived back at Dhahabu, panting from his run and with the fear that he could've been caught doing that. Laughing, he stuck his hand in the warm food, scooping out a handful of the apple-cinnamon gooeyness. Dhahabu stared at him, unsure if he should get some as well, he smiled brightly when Kimya nodded to him to eat some. The boys walked slowly to the cave, eating the pie as they went and laughing about Kimya's 'bravery.'

They arrived at the cave, seeing Chuki arguing with a large white tiger. It was their father, Nyeupe. Dhahabu smiled and ran toward them, squealing happily, "Daddy!" he jumped onto the big tiger, burying his face into it's thick neck fur. Nyeupe laughed, rolling onto his side and licking his son's face gently. Kimya followed slowly, not looking at anyone. He longed to hear his father say something to him... a hello, anything... but it was like he didn't even exist half of the time. He sat down, watching his parents and brother. Dhahabu was giggling as Nyeupe nuzzled him, purring loudly. Chuki watched, she had begun to grow fond of Dhahabu, but still treated Kimya like shit.

Kimya stood up, walking out of the cave, he felt like heading back to town, maybe he'd steal more food...
He arrived to some houses he'd never seen before. He peeked over the white, wooden fence, seeing a girl about his age in the bright, happy-looking yard. He longed to talk to her, she looked so nice... Her long, dark red hair and bright blue eyes gave off a very regal, generous feel. Kimya stared at her, not realizing he had been there for a long time. The girl looked up, smiling brightly, "Hi!" she said, waving at him. He tilted his head, wondering why she was being so kind to a little thief like him, he stared at her, his eyes widening when she came over to him and hugged him. His face turned a bright red and he cleared his throat awkwardly.

"I'm Scarlett," she said with a warm smile, "What's your name?" she asked, her big blue eyes bright as she looked at him.

"Um... I'm Kimya," he said, his voice sounding rough.

Scarlett smiled broader, "That's a cool name! Hey, you wanna come and play with me?" she asked benevolently. He tilted his head, confused, "Play...?" he asked, blinking his green eyes. She nodded, then laughed, "You've never played with anyone before? Come on, I'll show you!" she giggled, grabbing his hand as he climbed over the fence, dropping down onto the cool grass. She poked his chest, then ran off squealing, "You're it!"

he blinked, then growled, smiling and watching her determinedly. He darted after her, they both laughed loudly, and he tagged her as well, then ran off again.
